KingFisher River Company keeps a rare piece of Idaho history alive through sweepboating on the Salmon River. Originating in the prospector era, these massive wooden flatboats—known as scows—were once the workhorses of the canyon, using oversized "sweeps" to navigate heavy loads of mining gear and livestock through the steep terrain.

We can leave between 5 AM and 10 AM, but will plan to be off the water around Noon. Just let us know when you would like to push off!
